Quarterly grades are based on the following objectives.
- Participation: worth 5%. Every student will be held accountable for the following actions: arriving to class on time, coming to class prepared, and completing warm-up problems each day. These problems will be collected at the end of every week.
- Daily Homework: worth 20%, checked in class for completion and graded by the student with opportunities to ask questions.. Students are encouraged to write down correct answers for any problems they missed, ask questions if they need clarification, and make corrections. Late work will reduce grade by 25%.
- Notes/Classwork: worth 20%, collected at the end of each unit. When absent from class, it is the student's responsibility to make up work completed during class time.
- Projects/Quizzes: worth 25%, completed during the course of some units. All quizzes are open-notes, so it is important for students to maintain organization of papers throughout each unit.
- Tests: worth 30%, given at the end of each unit. Test dates are posted in advance on the website and students spend multiple days reviewing during class time. Students are encouraged to formulate a study plan and prepare accordingly. If a student is unhappy with a test score, he/she has the opportunity to complete test corrections; select this link for the specific timeline and set of requirements.
